Your mom is like my mom who sewed a lot of my clothes when I was in my early elementary school years and taught me a lot about sewing which I still do today, along with crocheting.

I'll admit, I tend toward perfectionism, but I'm starting to ease off from 95/5% to maybe 85/15%. More importantly, I'm learning to see my "mistakes," not as bad but as learning opportunities.

I enjoyed reading this piece; it lets me know I can ease off a bit more and not be so hard on myself.
