The only immediate family I have left are my daughter whom I live with and my middle brother who is back on the east coast in assisted living. I chat with him occasionally via Zoom. I have close relationships with several cousins and my oldest brother's niece whom I recently reconnected with. Several cousins are from WI and are conservative Christians. One told me that I should be careful with my interest in tarot so I don't let evil spirits get to me. But we were still close (she passed away a couple of years ago at 99) and I'm relatively close via social media to her daughter and her daughter's children who are now in Atlanta. So I guess I'm lucky in that regard. My parents were pretty accepting. The main problem I had with mom was that she was a perfectionist, so it's taken me years to get over the "I'm not good enough" syndrome. But I've forgiven her (hmmm, that could be the subject of an article).
