I finally had to say no to a friend of over 30 years who was descending more and more into a negative state of mind. I did so politely and with as much love as I could because I knew she was suffering. But my highly sensitive nervous system couldn't take any more and I had to say no to our relationship. I still consider her a friend and send her lots of love, but from a distance.
