I am so so sorry for your loss. I got a bit of a shock when I saw the date of your Georgie's passing, 5/17/23. That was my 73rd birthday. So of course I had to read your story. And I can definitely relate, as I am a cat person, too. I had a similar experience with my black cat Zanzibar (the luckiest cat) whom I eventually had euthanized when it was clear he was on his way out. This was 20 years ago.

But after he was gone, I had really vivid dreams of him. I even had a "clairvoyant" vision of him a few years back during a meditation designed to encourage "animal communication." He was resting majestically on a rug in a warm, cozy room. And a few feet to his left was a rocking chair full of playful kittens. It just happened to be the rocking chair in which I nursed my daughter.

So I guess he was telling me that my job is to take care of cats wherever I find them. I'm currently living with two housemates' cats, one of which spends most of the day in my room.

Just saying, they never really leave you.
