Excellent analysis of the white flight phenomenon!

I remember it as a child growing up in a middle class, residential neighborhood in Washington DC in the '60s. One white family after another moved out of the neighborhood until there were none left. Shortly before I left DC for Hawaii in 2007, white people started moving back in, displacing many of the black families their grandparents had fled from decades earlier. I haven't been back since moving, but I probably wouldn't recognize the city if I did return.

And great point about cancel culture and how cancelling one person who had the nerve to speak his racism out loud addresses in a significant way the problem of racism in this country.
